G is the mutantpenguins + rawmode entry for the XNA Warm-up contest “Relatives of spacewar”.
This little game was one of the five contest winners, and we are really proud of it.
It is a game that challenges 2 players one against another in a space arena.
This Game is also about Gravity and an alien artifact of inestimable value.
Two recovery starships are sent to claim this artifact, but only one can have it.
The player has to eliminate his competitor, using the only tool his starship disposes of, the G-beam, a powerful tractor beam capable of capturing the space debris that float nearby.
Throwing those debris at high speed using a swing effect will damage the other ship.
The players will have to master the offensive and defensive abilities of their g-beam, and learn to manouver their starship in order to swing the debris at their enemies… while avoiding harsh collision with big asteroids, explosive tanks and the artifact itself!
We strongly suggest you to play this game using an XBOX360 contrloller, we find the game more enjoyable that way, but you can also play the game with your keyboard using these keys:
Red player: W A S D + left CTRL
Blue player: directional arrows + right CTRL
