Another shameless self promotion

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Ok, we don’t have the time for serious updates on the blog, but we are always able to find some for shameless promotion like this one.

Here is an extract from the italian magazine “Game Republic” ( issue 83 - april 2007 ) featuring an huge screenshot of “G” and some kind words for our little creation.

Thank you very much, Game Republic, we were very pleased to see our G “printed”!
The text is in italian but to please non-italian speakers we put a little “something” from our current project “The Night of the Puppets”, guess what!? :)

Stay tuned, we’ll provide some REAL update soon!

Why the Mutant Penguins goes to lethargy? is it caused by the incedible mutation they have in their DNA? Probably!

But every sleep cycle results in a bigger challenge, some new ideas, and new technologies… when they wake ups!

So… what’s the new project this time? Exactly the previous one! The VerticalShotEmUp! but… for a new plattaform and with a new framework!

XNA on XBox360!!

This will causes the port of our currently-working-pc-code for the new development environment, but we will use this occasion to improve the performance of some part and design a stronger engine. The XBox360 is an amazing machine ad it is the PERFECT target for a vertical shooter.
Also, XNA allows source code compatibility between X360 and PC, and have a strong content pipeline that allows us to load and convert complex content file created with 3DSMax (for example) into our in-game type without “sbattimenti” :D

Last, Microsoft is promoting a contest for games created with XNA, and… Mutant Penguins likes challenges!

Turn on your HD-TV, connect the XBOX and prepare your game controller :D

The mutation is approaching!

XNA… if you want to play!

Hello guys, MUT is back again, the forum is still offline but we are trying to recover it…

To cite a famous sentence: “someone has set up us the bomb…”

Ok, the Mutating Penguins are not dead. in these last days we have evaluated the XNA framework, which is very very helpfull for small indie teams like ours. The most interesting things is the XBOX360 porting of pc games in just one click… WOW!

Anyway i’ve downloaded the entire xna pack and i’ve tryed to do something without have ever seen it before.

this the result of 40 minute of noob programming on XNA. The API is so simple and straight that i have programmed this while instructing another guy on how to create a simple car game using XNA (we can say i’ve made 2 demos in 40 minutes)
