How to invert a cubic equation
Sunday, December 31st, 2006Have you ever tryed to invert a cubic equation? yes? no? do you think it is easy? maybe.
And is your algorithm numerically stable? really ?
And it is also computationally efficent?
If you meet all these goals, compliments. Then we can share our two algorithm and see wich one is faster and stable, and of course, general purpose!
The real thing is that if you don’t have a strong math background, an huge need to solve the problem and a lethal cold (as i have now) probably you’ll be unable to solve the problem efficenty. I’m not very strong in math but i love enigmas, and also i love to solve problems with algorithm in the best way i can do.
This tooks me more than a month, and finally it works! and it works VERY GOOD!
Thanks to wikipedia, mathlab and DitZ who was very patient to me while i was solving this enigma!
below: the evidence

the Blue one is the original cubic, the Green one is the flipped function, but wait… where is the Green one? oh! sure! it is perfectly overlapped by the Red one, which is my inverted function!
